NEW OR AMENDED
LAWS
The
Vehicle Law of Pennsylvania;
Title 75, Chapter 37, Section 3731, Driving Under the Influence of
Alcohol or Controlled Substance, has been repealed and replaced by:
Title 75, Chapter 38, Driving After
Imbibing Alcohol or Utilizing Drugs, Section 3802, Driving under the
Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance.
Changes to
the law include a reduction in the alcohol concentration in the
individuals blood or breath to be less than .08% within two hours after
the individual has driven, operated or been in actual physical control
of the movement of a vehicle.
Section 3525, Protective
Equipment for Motorcycle Riders, has been amended.
Changes to the law include,
Subsection (d) Exception (2),(3),(4) Protective Headgear: A person 21
years of age or older who has been licensed to operate a motorcycle for
not less than two full calender years or has completed a motorcycle
rider safety course approved by the department or the Motorcycle Safety
Foundation is exempt from wearing a helmet. The passanger of a person
exempt under this subsection, if the passanger is 21 years of age or
older is also exempt from wearing a helmet.
